Three old ladies are sitting in a diner, chatting about various things. One lady says, "I'm getting really forgetful. This morning, I was standing at the top of the stairs, and I couldn't remember whether I had just come up or was about to go down." The second lady says, "You think that's bad? The other day, I was sitting on the edge of my bed, and I couldn't remember whether I was going to bed or had just woken up!" The third lady smiles smugly. "My memory's just as good as it's always been." She raps the table. With a startled look on her face, she asks, "Who's there?!"

할머니 세 명이 식당에 앉아 수다를 떨고 있었다. 한 할머니가 말했다. "건망증이 정말 심해지는 것 같아. 오늘 아침에는 계단 꼭대기에 서 있었는데, 막 올라온 건지 내려가려 했던 건지 기억이 안 나지 뭐야." 두 번째 할머니가 말했다. "그 정도 갖고 뭘 그래? 난 전에 침대 끝에 앉아있는데, 잠을 자려고 했던 건지 막 일어난 건지도 모르겠더라구!" 세 번째 할머니가 으스대며 말했다. "내 기억력은 항상 그랬듯이 좋아." 그러고는 (부정 타지 말라고) 테이블을 톡톡 두드리던 그녀가 갑자기 놀란 표정으로 물었다. "거기 누구슈?"
