The man so consistently made wrong moves in the stock market that his friends did just the opposite and prospered greatly. When the stocks reached their peak in Ocotber, the man sold all his stocks. His friends, as was their custom, did the reverse. They bought all the stocks they could. Shortly thereafter the market collapsed. Asked why the man had made the wise decision to sell all his stocks, he said: “Well, when I studied my data and charts it seemed to me a time to buy. But then I realized I had been consistently wrong for two years and that maybe I would be better off if I went contrary to my own judgement.
