I was one of 200 people waiting to depart on an 11 a.m. flight from New York to Jamaica. Just prior to boarding time, departure was postponed several hours because of problems with the airplane. The disappointed passengers endured the wait only to be greeted by another postponement, and another. Finally, after a 20-hour delay, the long awaited boarding announcement came. As we passed through the security check, a passenger in front of me remarked, "You don't need to check us for weapons.
