A doctor and a lawyer were talking at a party. Their conversation was constantly interrupted by those asking the doctor for free medical advice. The exasperated doctor asked the lawyer, "What do you do to those asking you for legal advice when you're out of the office?" "I give it to them," replied the lawyer, "Then I send them a bill later." The doctor thought it was a good idea and he would give it a try. A few days later the doctor got a bill from the lawyer. 의사와 변호사가 파티장에서 이야기를 나누고 있었다. 그런데 그 자리에서 의사에게 공짜로 의료 조언을 구하는 사람들 때문에 대화가 계속 방해를 받았다. 잔뜩 화가 난 의사는 변호사에게 물었다. "당신은 사무실 밖에서 공짜로 법적자문을 구하는 사람들에게 어떻게 하십니까?" "자문해 줍니다. 그리고 나중에 청구서를 보내지요." 변호사의 답변이었다. 의사는 좋은 아이디어라고 여기고 한번 시도해 봐야겠다고 생각했다. 며칠 뒤 의사는 그 변호사가 보낸 청구서를 받았다.
