George and Laura Bush were on a private jet en route to a public speaking in Florida. He turns to Laura and says, “Hey Laura, how about I throw a $100 bill out of the airplane and make a person happy?”
Laura replies, “Well, why don’t you just throw two $50 bills out of the airplane and make two people happy?”
Bush thinks about this and replies again with excitement, “I know what I’ll do! I’ll throw five $20 bills out of the airplane and make five people happy!”
The pilot of the jet turns around with frustration and says, “Why don’t you both jump out of the airplane and make the whole world happy?”
부시 대통령 부부가 플로리다 연설을 위해 비행기를 탔다. 부시가 부인을 쳐다보며 말했다. “100달러 지폐 한 장을 비행기 밖으로 던져 한 사람을 기쁘게 해줄까?” 로라 부시는 50달러 두장을 던져 두명을 기쁘게 해주는 것이 어떻겠냐고 물었다. 이에 잠시 생각에 잠긴 부시가 흥분된 목소리로 말했다. “마침내 내가 해야 할일을 알았어. 20달러 지폐 5장을 던져 5명을 기쁘게 해줄거야”
그러자 이들 말을 듣다 짜증이 난 조종사가 말했다. “둘 다 비행기 밖으로 몸을 던져 온 세상 사람들을 행복하게 해주시죠.”
