A little girl asked her mother, "How did the human race come about?" The Mother answered, "God made Adam and Eve; they had children and, so all mankind was made."
A few days later, the little girl asked her father the same question. The father answered, "Many years ago there were monkeys, and we developed from them."
The confused girl returns to her mother and says, "Mom, how is it possible?" The Mother answers, "Well, dear, it is very simple. I told you about the origin of my side of the family, and your father told you about his side."
어린 소녀가 엄마에게 "인간은 어떻게 생긴거죠?"라고 물었다. 엄마는 "하나님이 아담과 이브를 만드시고 아이들을 낳아 인류가 만들어졌지"라고 답했다. 며칠 뒤 소녀는 아빠에게 같은 질문을 던졌다. 아빠는 "아주 오래 전에 원숭이에게서 인간이 진화했단다"고 말했다. 혼란을 느낀 소녀가 엄마에게 돌아와 물었다. "엄마, 어떻게 이런 두 가지 일이 가능한거죠?" 그러자 엄마가 답했다. "얘야, 그건 매우 간단하단다. 난 우리 집안 이야기를 한 거고, 네 아빠는 그쪽 집안 이야기를 한 거지."
