Four men-an American, a Frenchman, an American Indian and a Jew-were drinking beer in New York bar. A Fly fell into each of the four glasses.The American tossed his drink away. The Frenchman removed the fly and drank the beer. The Indian ate the fly and drank the beer. The Jew drank his beer and sold the fly to the Indian.
미국인ㆍ프랑스인ㆍ아메리카 인디언ㆍ유태인 등 네 명이 뉴욕의 어느 술집에서 맥주를 마시고 있었는데 파리가 한 마리씩 이들의 술잔에 떨어졌다.
그러자 미국인은 맥주를 버렸다. 프랑스인은 파리를 건져내고 맥주를 마셨고 인디언은 파리도 먹고 맥주도 마셨다. 유태인은 맥주를 마시고 파리는 인디언에게 팔았다.
