A guy walking down a street one afternoon passes an old man sitting on the side of the road with a large sack. The younger guy says to the old man, "Watcha got in the sack?" The old man responds, "I got some monkeys in that there sack." The younger man asks, "If I guess how many monkeys you got in the sack, can I keep one?" The old man replies, "Son, if you guess how many monkeys I got in this sack, I'll give you both of 'em!" 청년이 길을 지나다가 큰 가방을 가진 노인을 봤다. 청년은 노인에게 물었다. "가방 속에 뭐가 있는 건가요?" 노인은 "가방 안에는 원숭이들이 들어있다네"라고 말했다. 청년은 "만약 가방 속에 원숭이가 몇 마리 있는지 알아맞히면 한 마리 받을 수 있을까요?"라고 물었다. 그러자 노인이 대답했다. "자네가 원숭이 수를 알아맞힌다면, 두 마리 모두 주도록 하지!"
