Two bats were hanging in their cave. One turned to the other and said, "Oh, I'm really thirsty for some fresh blood." The other bat was amazed and said, "Well, it's a bit late. Daylight is almost here, and we can't be exposed to any light - you know we'll die."
"Yeah, I know," said the first bat, "but I'm really starving for it." So he flied out of the cave and returned five minutes later with blood dripping from his mouth.
"You lucky thing. Where'd you find blood that quick?" asked the second bat.
"You see that tree over there in the distance?" mumbled the bat, his mouth full of blood. "Yeah, I think I do!" "Well, I didn't."
박쥐 두 마리가 동굴에 매달려 있었다. 한 박쥐가 다른 박쥐를 향해 말했다. "아, 정말 신선한 피가 마시고 싶어."
다른 박쥐가 놀라 말했다. "이런, 좀 늦었는걸. 아침 해가 거의 떴어. 우리는 햇볕을 쬐면 안 돼. 죽는 거 알잖아."
첫 번째 박쥐가 말했다. "그래, 알아. 하지만 정말이지 피가 마시고 싶어." 그리고는 동굴 밖으로 날아갔다가 5분 후 입에서 피를 뚝뚝 흘리며 돌아왔다.
"운이 좋구나. 어디서 그렇게 빨리 피를 찾은 거야?" 두 번째 박쥐가 물었다.
"저기 멀리 있는 저 나무 보여?" 첫 번째 박쥐가 입에 피를 가득 머금은 채 웅얼거렸다. "응, 보이는 것 같아!" "음, 나는 안 보였거든."
