A farmer discovered two soybeans and an envelope containing $100 in cash in his wife's drawer. The farmer asked about the items, she confessed.
"I haven't been completely faithful to you. When I did fool around, I put a soybean in the drawer to remind myself of my indiscretion,"
The farmer admitted that he'd not always been faithful either. He asked again, "I'm curious though, Where is the a hundred dollars come from?" "Oh that," she replied, "Every time I save a bushel of soybeans, I sold them for ten dollars!"
한 농부가 아내의 서랍에서 두 개의 콩과 현금 100달러가 든 봉투를 발견했다. 농부가 아내에게 그것들이 무엇이냐고 묻자 아내가 고백했다.
"전 당신에게 언제나 충실했던 건 아니에요. 제가 바람을 피울 때마다 저의 경솔함을 기억하기 위해 서랍에 콩 한 개씩을 넣었죠."
그러자 농부도 자신이 항상 (아내에게) 충실했던 것은 아니라고 털어놓았다. 남편이 다시 물었다. "그래도 궁금한 점이 있는데. 100달러는 어디서 나온 거지?" "아, 그거요." 아내가 대답했다. "1부셸의 콩을 모을 때마다 10달러를 받고 팔았거든요!"
