A Congressional candidate, while stumping the country, delivered an address. At a rhetorical pause, a heckler in the audience shouted at him "Do you drink?" The speaker answered quickly "Is that an inquiry or an invitation?" 국회의원 후보가 지방을 돌며 연설을 하고 있었다. 연설 도중에 청중 가운데서 야유를 하던 한 사람이 그를 향해 고함을 쳤다. "당신은 술을 많이 마시죠?" 그러자 그 후보는 즉각 "그건 질문이요, 아니면 초청이요?"라며 응수했다.
