A big-game hunter took his wife and his mother-in-law on a safari. One evening, while they were deep in the jungle, his wife woke up to find her mother missing. She rushed to her husband and insisted that they both must try to find her.
He grabbed his rifle and began to search. In a clearing not too far from their camp they came upon a frightening sight. There was the mother-in-law, backed up against a tree, with a large male lion facing her.
"What are we going to do?" the wife cried.
"Not a thing," replied the hunter. "The lion got himself into this disaster, he can get himself out of it!"
맹수 수렵가가 그의 아내·장모와 함께 사파리 여행을 갔다. 어느 날 밤 그들이 정글 한가운데 있을 때 아내가 잠에서 깨 어머니가 사라진 것을 발견했다. 아내는 남편에게 달려가 어머니를 찾아야 한다고 말했다.
남편은 장총을 들고 장모를 찾아 나섰다. 그들은 캠프에서 멀지 않은 숲속 빈터에서 무시무시한 광경을 보게 됐다. 장모가 나무를 등진 채 몸집이 큰 수사자와 대치하고 있었다.
"어떻게 하면 좋지?" 아내가 울부짖었다. "아무것도 하지 마." 남편이 답했다. "사자 스스로 재앙을 자초했어. 사자 스스로 이 상황을 벗어날 수 있을 거야!"
