A busload of politicians were driving down a country road when, all of a sudden, the bus ran off the road, and crashed into a tree in an old farmer's field.
The old farmer, after seeing what had happened, went over to investigate. He then proceeded to dig a hole to bury the politicians.
A few days later the local sheriff came out, saw the crashed bus, and asked the old farmer where all the politicians had gone. The old farmer said he had buried them.
The sheriff asked the old farmer, "Were they all dead?" The old farmer replied, "Well, some of them said they weren't, but you know how the politicians lie."
정치인들을 태운 버스 한 대가 시골길을 달리고 있었다. 그런데 버스가 갑자기 길을 벗어나더니 늙은 농부네 땅의 나무에 부딪혔다.
사건이 벌어지는 것을 지켜보던 농부는 상황을 알아보러 다가갔다. 그리고 구멍을 파 정치인들을 묻었다. 며칠 뒤, 보안관이 찾아 와서 사고가 난 버스를 보더니 늙은 농부에게 정치인들은 다 어디 갔느냐고 물었다. 농부는 그들을 묻어버렸다고 답했다.
보안관이 물었다. "그들이 모두 죽었소?" 그러자 농부는 답했다. "음, 몇몇은 죽지 않았다고 얘기하더군요. 하지만 당신도 정치인들이 얼마나 거짓말을 하는지 알잖아요."
