The witness was being interrogated rudely by the attorney for the plaintiff.
"What did you say your business was?" the lawyer asked. "I'm a day laborer," came the reply.
"What would you consider your social status is in this world as a day laborer?"
"I don't think it's very high," the witness replied, "but I feel I'm doing better than my father."
"What was your father?"
"He was a lawyer."
