The biggest beer producers in the world meet for a conference, and at the end of the day, the presidents of all the beer companies decide to have a drink together at a bar. The president of Budweiser naturally orders a Bud, the president of Miller orders a Miller, Adolph Coors orders a Coors, and so on down the list. Then the bartender asks Arthur Guinness what he wants to drink, and to everybody’s amazement, he orders tea! “Why don’t you order a Guinness?” his colleagues ask suspiciously, wondering if they’ve stumbled on an embarrassing secret. “Naaaah,” replies Guinness. “If you guys aren’t going to drink beer, then neither will I.” 세계 유수의 맥주회사 대표들이 정례회의를 맞아 한자리에 모였다. 일정이 끝난후 각사의 회장들은 바에서 술을 한잔 하기로 했다. 버드와이저의 회장은 버드와이저를, 밀러의 회장은 밀러를, 애돌프 쿠어스 회장은 쿠어스 맥주를 시켰다. 바텐더가 다음으로 아서 기네스 사의 회장에게 주문을 받았는데, 놀랍게도 그는 차(茶)를 시키는게 아닌가! 다른 회장들이 미심쩍다는 표정으로 뭔가 비밀이라도 캐려는 냥 “왜 기네스를 주문하지 않았소?”라고 물었다. 그러자 기네스 회장이 고개를 내저으며 말하길, “아니- 됐습니다. 여러분들이 맥주를 드실 생각이 없는 것 같으니, 저도 안 마실 뿐이죠.”
