A man of Polish ancestry walked up to the counter and asked for a Polish Meatball Sandwich. The man at the counter said, "What a Pollack." The Polish man said, "I resent that. If a Jew came to your counter and asked for a kosher salami on rye, would you call him a stupid Jew." "Probably, " replied the clerk. "And if an Italian came in here and asked for spaghetti and meatballs, would you also insult him?" "Probably," the clerk again replied. "Why you're nothing but a bigot. Why do you have to insult everybody not like you?"
At this, the clerk replied, "Because this is a HARDWARE store, moron."
폴란드 혈통의 한 남자가 계산대로 와서 폴란드식 미트볼 샌드위치를 주문했다. 점원은 "이런 폴란드 멍청이 같으니라고"라고 중얼거렸다. 폴란드 남자는 "정말 화가 치미는군요. 당신, 유대인이 율법대로 조리한 소시지 호밀빵을 주문해도 바보라 부를 거요?" "아마도요" 점원이 답했다. "이탈리아 사람이 스파게티와 미트볼을 주문해도 이렇게 모욕할 겁니까?" "그럴 겁니다." 점원이 재차 말했다. "왜 이리 편협합니까. 왜 당신과 같지 않은 사람은 누구건 모욕한다는 겁니까?"
그러자 점원이 답했다. "여긴 철물점이니까, 이 멍청아."
