A stockbroker was ‘cold calling’ about a penny stock and found a client. “I think this one will really move” said the broker. “it’s only 1 dollar a share.” “Buy me 1,000 shares” said the client. The next day the stock was at 2 dollars. The client called the broker and said, “You were right, give me 5,000 more shares.” The next day the client looked in the paper and the stock was at 4 dollars. The client ran to the phone and called the broker, “Get me 10,000 more shares.” “Great!” said the broker. The next day the client looked in the paper and the stock was at 9 dollars. Seeing what a great profit he had in just a few days, the client ran to the phone and told the broker, “Sell all my shares!” The broker said, “To whom? You were the only one buying that stock.” 한 증권브로커가 저가주식에 대한 전화영업을 하다가 어떤 고객을 발견하고는 “이 주식은 정말 가격이 오를 겁니다. 현재 주당 1달러입니다"라고 말했다. “1,000주 매수하시오”라고 고객은 응했다. 다음날 그 주식은 2달러가 됐다. 고객은 브로커에게 전화해 “당신이 옳았어. 5,000주를 추가로 매수하시오”라고 요청했다. 다음날 고객은 신문을 보고 주식이 4달러로 뛴 것을 발견했다. 고객은 전화기로 달려가 브로커에게 연락한 후 “1만주 더 사시오”라고 말했다. “주문대로 하겠습니다!” 브로커가 대답했다 다음날 고객이 신문을 보았을 때 그 주식은 9달러에 거래되고 있었다. 며칠 만에 엄청난 이익을 본 그 고객은 브로커에게 “내 주식을 당장 모두 팔아주시오”라고 지시했다. 그 때 브로커 말하길, “누구에게요? 당신이 그 주식을 매입해 온 유일한 사람인데…”
