Cannibals capture three men. The men are told that they will be eaten and their skin will be used to make canoes. Then they are each given a final request. The first man asks to be killed as painlessly as possible. So they poison him. The second man asks for paper and a pen to write a farewell letter to his family. After he writes his letter, they kill him saving his skin for their canoes. The third man asks for a fork. The cannibals are confused, but they give him a fork. As soon as he has the fork he begins stabbing himself all over and shouts, "To hell with your canoes!"
식인종들이 세 남자를 생포해 잡아먹은 후 피부를 벗겨 카누를 만들겠다고 말했다. 그리고는 각자 마지막 소원을 들어주겠다고 했다. 첫번째 남자가 고통 없이 죽고 싶다고 청하자 식인종들은 그를 독살했다. 두번째 남자는 가족들에게 작별편지를 쓰게 종이와 펜을 달라고 했다. 남자가 편지를 쓰자 식인종들은 그를 죽이고 카누를 만들기 위해 피부를 벗겼다. 세번째 남자는 포크를 달라고 했다. 식인종들은 이해가 되지 않았지만 포크를 가져다줬다. 그는 포크를 받자마자 온몸을 찔러대며 소리쳤다. "카누는 될 대로 되라지!"
